Cobalt Blue Handloom Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree With Double Color Border

Korvai is an age-old textile weaving technique that connects the principles of contrast and color amongst a saree's border and body. Korvai, the classic design of a Kanchipuram saree, is an artwork that attaches the heavier layer of zari borders to the eye-catching body of the saree. Because the Zari border is interlocked at both ends of the saree, it is also known as the "three shuttles" weaving technique.

When weaving a Korvai saree like this cobalt blue masterpiece, two weavers sit at both weft ends of the loom to throw the shuttle. The labor-intensive process of the Korvai weaving technique results in the creation of such Kanjivaram sarees that you can slay through a variety of special events and treasure for future generations. The cobalt blue pure silk six-yards is richly adorned with lighter-colored parallel lines that define the richness of this Kanjivaram work of art. The iconic double-colored border attached to this saree is enriched with pink and blue colors along with delicate designs made out of gold zari work. This saree comes with an arresting blouse piece of a similar design for you to look drop-dead gorgeous from top to bottom.

The three shuttle weaving technique used to create contrasts in borders and pallu is known as the Kanjivaram Korvai. Two weavers sit at both weft ends of a loom to throw the shuttle while weaving a korvai saree. A korvai saree is more expensive than a regular single color silk kanjivaram
