The Weaving Technique

Kinkhwab is a rich, heavy silk fabric with an intricate pattern woven into it. Khinkwab textiles are largely used for ceremonial textiles and the resultant fabric is like woven gold, The weave produces intricate floral designs that appear embroidered on the surface of the fabric. The gold weave is so prominent that it almost covers the base fabric.

The Design Technique

Handwoven sarees from banaras having small distinct motifs spread all over are known as bootidar sarees. The most commonly used bootis are Angoor Bel, Gojar Bel (mostly used in borders), Lattar Bel, Khulta Bel, Baluchar Bel, Latiffa Bootii, Mehrab Bel, Kalma Booti, Patti Booti, Mehrab Jaal, Baluchar Boota, etc. Banarasi sarees having small separate motifs all over the saree are referred to as Bootidar.
