Hot Pink Double Shade Handloom Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Saree With Rupa Zari Jaal

Double-shade handlooms have paved their way into the fashion world and are fated to be an integral part of fashion apparel for years to come. This hot pink double-shade handloom, for one, is a scene-stealing masterpiece created by the hands of the master artisans of Banaras. This captivating Banarasi native is a pure Katan silk handloom with a splash of eye-catching colours like hot pink and silver.

The airy, aesthetically appealing pure katan silk fabric features an exquisite expanse of Rupa (silver) zari jaal all along its surface, which only makes it appear like an imperial piece of clothing. This peculiar design adds a touch of royalty and opulence to its appearance. To ensure that your regal ensemble takes centre stage, pair it with diamond-studded earrings decorated with tiny ruby stones. While the captivating allure of the Banarasi saree keeps you hooked on its extraordinary appeal, the equally elegant blouse piece it comes with balances out its glimmer with simplicity. Drape yourself in its grace and be prepared to steal the show like never before.

The Weaving Technique

Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
