Handloom Ruby Red Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree With Golden Zari Work

India being a land of rich cultural heritage and a saree being a major part of it, our country has always intrigued the world be it with its value system, it’s choice of clothing or even the many celebrations. Colours being our staple, India has made a mark in the fashion industry and otherwise too with the age-old practices that make it peculiar and unique in every way. Korvai technique of weaving has been one such practice that the country has had since time immemorial. Kanjivaram sarees have been a dutiful part of royal families of south India and across the country because of its sheen, purity, and it’s intricate detailing. Korvai technique brings together two contrasting colors, one of the border and the other of the body of the saree with each throw of the shuttle.

It usually requires two weavers, one to operate the threads of the body and the other to take care of the borders. This intricately woven ruby red pure silk Kanjivaram saree with golden zari work makes it unique and quintessential in its own way. From being perfect for every occasion to being pure, this handloom is something you can never go wrong with - making it the perfect heirloom too! Note: This saree does come with a blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique

The three shuttle weaving technique used to create contrasts in borders and pallu is known as the Kanjivaram Korvai. Two weavers sit at both weft ends of a loom to throw the shuttle while weaving a korvai saree. A korvai saree is more expensive than a regular single color silk kanjivaram
