Hot Pink Double Shade Handloom Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Saree With All Over Sona Rupa Cutwork Jaal

Hot pink silk sarees are often chosen masterpieces of women who like to make a statement every time they walk into an event. This katan Banarasi drape has been brilliantly handcrafted with utmost attention to detail by the expert craftsmen of Banaras. Thanks to the cutwork weaving technique used in its making, the pure silk saree not only looks drop-dead gorgeous but is also highly durable and soft to the touch.

The sona (gold) and rupa (silver) floral vines lavishly adorned throughout the body of the Banarasi silk saree add a peculiar touch of royalty to the drape. The luxuriously decorated pallu features geometric patterns inspired by Gujarat’s patola, which adds a contemporary twist to the traditional saree. The floral zari borders captivate one’s attention with their unique appearance. The hot pink blouse piece it comes with also features an identical floral border for a complete look.

The Weaving Technique

Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
