Some weddings leave behind more than just memories. They echo like poetry in the air, lingering in the folds of silk and scent of flowers. One such beautiful celebration was that of Mehak Nautiyal from Dehradun and Amarbir Singh Sandhu from Amritsar, whose intimate wedding unfolded like a tender verse in the lap of the Himalayas. And at the heart of it all stood Mehak, radiant in a WeaverStory ensemble that told its own story of heritage, romance, and individuality.
A Setting Straight Out of a Dream
Set in the lush embrace of the Doon Valley, this “Baharon Phool Barsao” wedding was every bit a garden fantasy. Picture a secluded terrace where the Shivalik and Lesser Himalayas cradle you in silence, the mountain air thick with the scent of roses and jasmine. A carpet of petals led the way to a mandap crafted not just with blooms, but with emotion- peonies, hydrangeas, and soft seasonal florals resting on low pedestals, giving the moment a grounded, earthy grace.
But what truly made hearts swell was the bride’s entrance- her brothers held a pastel floral canopy overhead, woven with jasmine, rose, and marigold, escorting Mehak as she walked toward her new beginning. Cascading wooden arches draped with lotus and lilies framed their vows, while delicate rose and gypsy garlands whispered blessings around the couple during their varmala.
On Choosing the Outfit
Wearing the color on your wedding day, “I felt empowered,” she shares. “It was a shade that was typical, yet it resonated deeply with me. There was a softness and strength to it, just like the atmosphere we were surrounded by.” The choice reflected not only her personal style, but also her confidence to write her own chapter- boldly, yet beautifully.
How She Found WeaverStory
In her wedding planning journey, Mehak found herself navigating the usual bridal chaos. But it was during one of her quiet online scrolls that she stumbled upon WeaverStory. “It was serendipitous,” she says. “The moment I saw the piece, I knew it was meant for me. It was unlike anything else- timeless, but different. There was soul in the weave.”
The ensemble, steeped in handloom tradition and storytelling detail, perfectly matched the emotional texture of the day.
A Celebration Etched in Elegance
The wedding may have been intimate, but every element, from twilight receptions under floral chandeliers to wooden tables scattered with petals felt curated with care. The celebration, though brief, carried a sense of stillness and meaning. “It was all very emotional,” Mehak recalls. “Every corner, every flower felt like it was part of our story.”
The Compliment That Stayed With Her
When asked about the most memorable compliment she received, Mehak smiles. “Someone told me I looked like a verse out of a Faiz poem,” she says. “That stayed with me. I think it wasn’t just about the way I looked it was the feeling I carried, and the grace of the outfit that brought it alive.”
A WeaverStory Piece That Lives On
While the wedding day may have passed, Mehak is far from done with her cherished WeaverStory creation. “I’m looking forward to wearing it again, perhaps at a family gathering or anniversary. It’s not just bridalwear; it’s heirloom material. The kind of piece you want to wear for years and pass on with love.”
Mehak and Amarbir’s wedding was more than just a union, it was a gentle ode to love, tradition, and the quiet beauty of choosing what feels right over what’s expected. In her WeaverStory ensemble, Mehak didn't just wear a saree- she wore a story. And we are honoured to have been a part of this stunning chapter in her life.
