Collection: Labonya- Where Grace Meets Grit

Inspired by the quiet strength and lyrical soul of Labanya from Tagore’s Shesher Kobita, our Labanya collection of Jamdani sarees celebrates the woman who is thoughtful, fearless, and deeply in tune with beauty and intellect. Just like Labanya, each saree is complex yet graceful — woven with fine handspun threads, intricate motifs, and an elegance that doesn't scream but softly lingers.
Crafted in pure cotton, tussar, and silk muslin blends, the collection offers everything from delicate floral jaals to bold, artistic borders — perfect for women who live their truth unapologetically. Lightweight and poetic in presence, these sarees aren’t just garments; they’re quiet declarations of individuality and art.
Labonya is for the woman who doesn’t just wear a saree — she lives in it, breathes poetry through it, and makes tradition her own.

About Jamdani Sarees

Jamdani is a traditional handloom weaving technique known for its intricate motifs created directly on the handloom using supplementary weft threads. Each motif is inserted individually by hand during the weaving process, allowing patterns to appear seamlessly across the fabric while remaining visible on both sides.

Historically practiced across the weaving regions of Undivided Bengal, particularly Dhaka, Jamdani weaving has been passed down through generations of skilled artisans. The technique is valued for its precision and the time required to create each saree.

At WeaverStory, our Jamdani collection features sarees crafted in cotton, muslin, matka and linen, chosen for their lightweight feel and ease of drape. The designs include traditional butis, borders, and floral patterns that reflect the heritage of this weaving tradition while remaining versatile for contemporary wear.

Each saree is handwoven on traditional looms, preserving a textile practice that continues to represent one of the most refined forms of Indian handloom weaving.
