Phagun - The Spring Collective

The collection explores the nuances of celebrating Indian summers with a hint of poetic grace and a whole dose of floral frenzy.

There’s a lot about spring that can be neatly documented in folk tales and poems that share a love for nature and civilization. Time and again, artists, poets, and designers have sought inspiration from this powerful collaboration between the natural and human world, only for us to consume the remnants of a great liaison. Our spring collective, Phagun, beautifully captures moments from these sun-kissed days and translates them further into jewel-toned creations that cover everything from carefully coordinated kurta sets in soft pastels to colour-blocked ensembles in vibrant green, tangerine, and burgundy.

Taking our love for floral renditions up a notch, we’re doubling up on finesse and creativity. For an edit soaked in a spectrum of natural colours, relaxed silhouettes, and pure Chanderi fabric, our spring collective is a flavorful portrait of Indian crafts that add to the season’s vibrance and playfulness. Think hand-embroidered zardozi mingled with thread work and a deck of floral bootas and intricate bels rendered on lush silken weaves.

Burnt orange, lime green, or pink? Which of spring’s most exciting colours will you shop for this season? Below, scroll through an edit of our top favourites.

When unlikely colours cosy up, you know you have a winner.

If staying away from black is the biggest challenge for you this summer, then doting on darker hues like rust, merlot, and aubergine can be your only escape. Count on minimal embroidery and let colour take centre stage. When pairing darker hues, make sure to brush up on your colour wheel theory, or better yet, let us do the legwork for you. Our Deep Purple Pure Chanderi Kurta Set comes with a striking dupatta in burnt orange and is an ideal choice for someone who enjoys a darker undertone. To add a hint of spring, find floral motifs and beaded sparklers scattered all across the bodice and the dupatta.

When life gives you lemons, add a pop of green.

While colour-blocking your way through summer is very au courant, we’re taking monochrome looks in zesty tones as our choice de jure. Our classic single-tone spring favourites prove that you can make a statement without mixing a concoction of vivid brights. Instead, opt for a single bright hue to conquer your day. Our top choice would be to go with a pure Chanderi lime green straight kurta set that comes with matching pants and a dupatta. Beautifully hand-embroidered with zari and sequins detailing, this one deserves top drawer status in your spring wardrobe.

A flush of pink for the romantics

Infuse a feminine touch into your spring wardrobe by opting for blush, fuchsia, or hot pink to add some colour to your repertoire of everyday essentials. Play with florals and textures to keep things interesting. Yes, florals for spring are common and can seem repetitive, but just the right hint of foliage can undeniably take your look from quotidian to exciting in a minute. Our Rani Pink Pure Chanderi Silk Kurta Set has delicate florals hand-embroidered at the centre front and sprinkles of sequins all across the kurta. To match, the pants also come decked with tiny sequins and have an organza panel attached to the hemline.

Orange is the new black.

We’re bringing the burnished hues of autumn to our spring/summer moodboard. Think warm-toned tangerine instead of salmon and apricot to spice up your wardrobe. Replace woollen knits with lightweight silk chanderi and fall prints with a splatter of garden-ready motifs in sparkly sequins and delicate embroidery. The verdict for spring is all about festive vibrance, and we're here to help you shop our best pieces. Our burnt orange kurta set comes in pure silk chanderi and features delicate floral embroidery and bootas. The Organza dupatta also features a floral-vine-like pattern along the border, with hints of sequins scattered across beautifully.

We think this ensemble is the perfect formula to bring back cheer while saying goodbye to your dark winter favourites.

When in doubt, wear red.

Saturated reds with cool greens make a good team and are also a great way to make a bold statement this spring/summer. Intricate embroidery, a touch of florals, and some sparklers are other ways you could possibly zhuzh things up to create a look made for the books. And, if your style leans towards loud yet understated, try investing in our sage green pure silk Chanderi kurta set with a plum red dupatta. This ensemble comes with a kurta that features a floral bel on the neckline and some scattered foliage across the bodice. The matching pants are adorned with beads along the hemline, while the scene-stealing red dupatta makes for a splendid way to brighten things up on a mundane afternoon.
