Weaver Story's astonishing and charming Dark Magenta dupatta hand loomed using Banaras originated Katan Silk is a dream come true for any ethnic buff and popularly known for its Kadhwa Jaal motifs. The dark magenta hues pigmented with plum silhouettes add maturity to the fabric, presenting it as a metaphor for the blossoming femininity and a journey to womanhood. Designed using the most authentic quality of Katan Silk, which is handcrafted by mangling a few strands of Silk together, the simplicity and modest nature of the fabric is an ultimate tribute to the heritage restored within the holistic city of Banaras.
Adorned with the Kadhwa Jaal work around the corners, each of the pure gold zari motif is handwoven intricately and separately, with extreme patience and perseverance of the local artisans of our nation. The shimmery gold brocade sets a subtle yet suitable contrast with the smooth and silky floral monograms of yellow, orange, blue and red color tones. The middle of the fabric is fully ornamented with the blonde vine-like clusters all over.

The Weaving Technique
Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
