Pigeon Blue Handloom Pure Gajji Silk Tanchoi Banarasi Saree
Nestled on the banks of the holy Ganges, the city of Banaras weaves heritage and class since times immemorial. The flourishing era of the Mughals gave these weavers the deserved accolade and there has been no looking back then after. The timelessness associated with every weave; be it the pastel shades intertwined with the beauty of silver and gold zari to the rustic solids that make a statement, lends every weave elegance & splendour. India, a land that is known for its rich heritage and culture swears by the six yards of extravagance and panache. Though just a piece of cloth, a handwoven saree is a wardrobe must-have, a status quo you would love to own.
This Pigeon Blue Handloom Gajji Silk Saree’s every thread radiates a timeless vibe; a vibe that one cannot miss! A traditional weaving technique, the Tanchoi technique is the real mastermind behind the sheer sophistication. With all hues of the happy pigeon blue, this Gajji Silk saree makes a perfect choice for occasions that require you to put your best foot forward. The Weaving Technique
Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
