Turquoise Blue Handloom Pure Katan Silk Kimkhab Banarasi Saree

Designer sarees are meticulously crafted with elements that make them standout pieces in a fashion-forward woman’s closet. This turquoise blue pure silk saree is one such creation, brilliantly handcrafted by the expert craftsmen of Banaras. They used the centuries-old Kimkhab weaving technique to create this katan Banarasi saree. This Banarasi saree is a highly durable and lightweight handloom that can be preserved as an heirloom archive.

The turquoise blue expanse is richly decorated with floral jaals all over. The floral jaal is intricately crafted using delicate sona (gold) and rupa (silver) zari work. The border and the pallu of the Banarasi saree are decorated in geometric check patterns, giving the saree a contemporary look. The matching turquoise blue blouse piece features the same check zari border as the saree to match its elegance.

The Weaving Technique

Kinkhwab is a rich, heavy silk fabric with an intricate pattern woven into it. Khinkwab textiles are largely used for ceremonial textiles and the resultant fabric is like woven gold, The weave produces intricate floral designs that appear embroidered on the surface of the fabric. The gold weave is so prominent that it almost covers the base fabric.
