Nandini — Bottle Green Organza Silk Saree with Resham & Zari Embroidered Border

Deep bottle green gives Nandini, from The Heirloom Vault, a quiet richness. Crafted in organza silk, the saree is deliberately restrained through the body and framed by an intricately embroidered border, allowing colour, translucence and craftsmanship to define the piece.

The organza has a light, sheer character that gives the bottle green varying depths across the drape. It appears richer through gathered pleats and softer where the fabric falls in a single layer. The body remains entirely plain, creating a clean expanse of colour against the detailed border.

Running continuously along the edge is a resham and zari embroidered border. Ornamental floral forms repeat through its length, worked in metallic zari and resham against the deep green ground. A finer lace-like embroidered edging completes the border, adding definition without making the composition feel heavy.

The embroidery is executed using a manually operated machine, with the artisan guiding the work throughout the process. The making therefore retains a distinctly handcrafted character, bringing precision and the hand of the karigar together within the finished saree.
