Handloom Yellow And Red Pure Gajji Silk Tanchoi Banarasi Saree

The world that once thought of India to be a land of snake charmers is actually charmed by India’s cultural marvels. Be it the Taj Mahal or a gorgeous Banarasi Gajji Silk saree, both of which are sheer enchanters who leave no stone unturned. Since yesteryears, sarees have been an ornamental part of most women in India thus adding to their world-renowned elegance.

The epitome of grace and class, this nine yards of sophistication is every girl’s dream attire. The perfect blend of red and yellow, the two colors typical to the Indian richness, coupled with the golden bootas add to the saree’s timelessness. Back in the day, there floated a notion that only the Bengali brides adorned a beautiful Banarasi saree and now, it’s a favorite amongst every girl big or small. The statement red borders of this handloom, add to the subtleness of the yellow thus making this hand-woven masterpiece a gem to possess. This handwoven classic comes with a yellow blouse piece and an elementary border that is sure to enhance the look multi-fold. Even years after, these sarees never lose their elegance, their charm, and their richness!

The Weaving Technique

Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
