Blue And Purple Handloom Pure Katan Silk Resham Tanchoi Banrasi Saree With Small Floral Pattern And Red Selvedge

Breathtakingly beautiful, this Blue and Purple Banarasi saree is a striking ode to colour and craftsmanship. Woven in pure katan silk, it features the intricate floral Resham Tanchoi technique, where rich silk threads are interwoven to create a smooth, self-patterned surface with no zari floats on the back- only pure artistry visible on the front.

The body blooms with small floral motifs, lending the saree a soft, textured elegance, while the vibrant red selvedge provides a bold, traditional accent that enhances its regal charm. The interplay of jewel tones makes this piece a standout choice for evening festivities, wedding functions, or elegant gatherings. Style it with heritage silver or gemstone jewellery and a deep-toned blouse for a look that feels both royal and rooted in tradition. It’s a saree that doesn’t just make an entrance- it leaves a lasting impression.

Note : This Saree comes with a matching blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique

Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
