Golden Black Handloom Pure Katan Silk Tanchoi Banarasi Saree With Border

Golden and black is a combination that one can never ever go wrong with, be it a saree or any other attire you pick. Adding to that, a pure Katan Silk Banarasi saree with an intricately woven black and gold border just adds to its panache. Ancient yet so modern and classy, this Banarasi beauty from weaver’s story is to die for.

Situated on the holy ghats of the Ganges, Varanasi is the place where this art of weaving Banarasi sarees actually started. These sarees have been ruling the fashion industry in India for years now. Its timelessness and it’s enchanting appearance make the wearer, the weavers, and the viewer mesmerized. The delicate yet statement borders as well as the stunning pallu this saree has is beyond words can explain. This saree is woven using an ancient Indian weaving technique called Kimkhab which harmoniously weaves the threats together resulting in what we call “perfect”. Accompanied by the most perfect blouse piece, this black beauty is definitely one of the best choices you have made!

The Weaving Technique

Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
