Our hot pink handloom double-shade katan Banarasi saree is a handloom masterpiece that talks volumes about the tradition of India. The entire double-shaded expanse is further enhanced by statement gold zari geometric-floral booti all over. These booti lend the saree an imperial look. The pallu of the saree features a rich allure of geometric-floral patterns inspired by Gujarat’s Patola sarees. The golden border of the slinky drape is decorated with a combination of crisscross waves and floral designs. Accompanied by a blouse piece, this saree can easily be classified as heirloom-worthy.

The Weaving Technique
Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
