Pink Handloom Pure Satin Silk Tanchoi Banarasi Saree With Antique Zari
This ruby pink handloom is an heirloom-worthy katan Banarasi saree, especially crafted by hand by the master artisans of Banaras. These craftsmen employed the complex Tanchoi weaving technique to create this classic Banarasi silk saree. You are destined to feel lured towards the intricate floral patterns crafted in antique zari. The entire expanse of the pink handloom saree is adorned with tiny, delicate leaves crafted through checks throughout.
The border adorns a combination of diagonal lines and floral patterns crafted in gold antique zari. The pallu is adorned with a blend of tiny checks, floral designs, and diagonal lines in antique zari, adding a royal look to the ensemble. The orange selvedge that runs along the border adds a touch of elegance. The Banarasi saree comes with a pink blouse featuring an antique zari border in a floral design similar to the saree.

The Weaving Technique
Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
