Red Handloom Real Zari Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Saree With Small Elephant And Peacock Motifs With Purple Meena

Steeped in heritage and woven in brilliance, this red pure Katan silk Banarasi saree is a classic that transcends trends. The drape features small elephant and peacock motifs, each intricately woven in real zari and highlighted with purple Meenakari detailing. The elephant, a symbol of wisdom and prosperity, and the peacock, a mark of beauty and grace, together lend this saree an aura of celebration and auspiciousness, perfect for grand occasions.

Crafted in pure Katan silk, the saree offers a smooth texture and a gentle sheen that enhances its rich tone. The real zari work glows with enduring lustre, reflecting the skill and patience of master artisans from Banaras.

The Weaving Technique

Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
