At its centre, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi sit together on an ornate throne, their hands raised in blessing. The scene brings a sense of grace to the drape, enriched by red, blue, orange and green against the softly luminous fabric.

Drawn by hand with a bamboo pen, the painting reveals its beauty through delicate outlines, closely worked patterns and carefully placed colour. The elaborate throne frames the divine pair, creating a pallu with the presence of a complete artwork. Its narrative of protection, prosperity and blessings gives the saree a special resonance for auspicious celebrations.

A broad border of painted birds carries this artistry across the shoulder and around the hem. Their richly patterned feathers create a graceful rhythm along the drape, while small floral motifs leave the beige gold body beautifully open. This balance of intricate borders and softly gleaming fabric gives the saree its restrained elegance.

The saree is woven on a handloom, then painted by women artisans using a bamboo pen in the Madhubani tradition of storytelling. They belong to a self-help group led by a National Award-winning artisan, working within a cottage industry in Madhubani district, Bihar. Alongside household and family responsibilities, these women bring their skill and individual expression to each piece.

Approximately 110 hours of handloom weaving and hand painting, spread over 22–25 days, go into every saree. The result is an art piece to wear and cherish, where the warmth of beige gold Chanderi meets the depth of a devotional story.
