Burgundy Handloom Pure Georgette Banarasi Bandhej Saree With Leaf And Floral Jaal
This Burgundy Handloom Pure Georgette Banarasi Bandhej Saree brings together two celebrated Indian craft traditions in one composed drape - the richness of Banarasi weaving and the beauty of Bandhej. Handwoven in the Banarasi weaving cluster by skilled artisans, it reflects a meeting of regional artistry shaped through the loom.
Pure georgette lends the saree its fluid fall and light structure, allowing the deeper burgundy tone to move gracefully. The body carries Bandhej-inspired motifs arranged in a symmetric pattern, where small forms create structure across the field.
Layered over this layout, a floral jaal unfolds through fine blossoms and curling vines, softening the geometry of the Bandhej grid. Toward the pallu, elongated leaf motifs appear in structured rows, creating scale contrast and giving the drape a more pronounced finish.
A finely woven sona zari border frames the saree with warmth and clarity, while the pallu balances texture, motif density, and colour depth with elegance.
Ideal for festive evenings, wedding ceremonies, traditional gatherings, and occasions where heritage dressing feels most meaningful.
Styling Note:
For daytime events, pair with a muted beige or burgundy blouse and antique gold jewellery. For evening celebrations, style with an emerald or gold blouse and statement kundan pieces.
Note: Comes with a matching blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique
Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
