Green Double Shade Handloom Pure Katan Silk Kimkhab Banarasi Saree With Maroon Selvedge

The exquisite double shade emerald green Banarasi Silk Saree with the undertones of blonde brocade work, designed by Weaver Story, paints a beautiful picture of ancient creativity combined with the modern day artistry. Made from the fabrics of authentic Katan Silk, the most sterling quality of Silk which is curated by twisting a few filaments of delicacy altogether to situate a stern and unbreakable bond, the fabric's intricate zari work adds to its accessibility and elegance. Using the vintage Persian interlacing technique of Kimkhab, translating to “a little dream”, the entire gem is impenetrably drenched with the densely assembled motifs of flora and leafy clusters, symbolically representing the evergreen fields of a freshly rejuvenated forest birthing pure gold flowers.

Meticulous Maroon Selvedge that gorgeously surrounds the edges of the ethnic ensemble adds a touch of innovation to the traditionality of the zari floral motifs, tying all the loose threads together and finishing the artistic souvenir with a master stroke. Taking sincere inspiration from the Persian craftsmen, the handcrafted Saree of this Katan Silk fabric goes perfectly well with the ingenious color scheme, keeping the heaviness of the interlacing intact with the undertones of simplicity and minimalism.

The Weaving Technique

Kinkhwab is a rich, heavy silk fabric with an intricate pattern woven into it. Khinkwab textiles are largely used for ceremonial textiles and the resultant fabric is like woven gold, The weave produces intricate floral designs that appear embroidered on the surface of the fabric. The gold weave is so prominent that it almost covers the base fabric.
