Handloom Cobalt Blue Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree With Double Color Big Border

The Kanjivaram silk weavers are believed to be the descendants of Markanda, who was famed for weaving clothing for the gods themselves. This beautiful weave has a centuries-old history and originated in the small city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. These heirloom-worthy handlooms are widely known for their unrivalled aesthetic appeal and distinguished weaving technique. Expert artisans in Kanchipuram craft each thread of pure silk using the intricate Korvai weaving technique.

This cobalt blue Kanjivaram masterpiece is the outcome of the painstaking efforts of these skilled craftsmen. The pure silk cobalt blue six-yard is handwoven with care and precision separately from the two borders. The pink border, green border, and cobalt blue body are then interlinked using the Petni method along the warp. The intricate detailing of the gold zari adds a peculiar touch of elegance and royalty to this arresting ensemble. When paired with a gold temple set, this saree will make you look drop-dead gorgeous from top to bottom. From traditional festivals like the Thiruvaiyaru festival to casual events like a sumptuous cocktail party, this elegant saree will look appealing on all occasions.

The Weaving Technique

The three shuttle weaving technique used to create contrasts in borders and pallu is known as the Kanjivaram Korvai. Two weavers sit at both weft ends of a loom to throw the shuttle while weaving a korvai saree. A korvai saree is more expensive than a regular single color silk kanjivaram
