Handloom Green Pure Georgette Banarasi Saree With Double Border Kadhwa Meena Booti

Quietly regal, this Handloom Green Pure Georgette Banarasi Saree draws its strength from the depth of its colour, disciplined detailing, and the enduring beauty of handwoven craft. The rich green tone feels poised and timeless, suited to celebrations that favour elegance over excess.

Handwoven in the Banarasi weaving cluster by skilled karigars, the saree is crafted in pure georgette, known for its lightness and graceful movement. Soft in hand and fluid in drape, it falls with ease while retaining a refined line when worn.

Across the body, delicate Kadhwa bootis are arranged in a measured scatter, with each motif woven individually into the fabric rather than added later. Some motifs carry subtle meenakari accents, introducing touches of colour within the woven field. This technique lends clarity, durability, and the distinct finish associated with fine Banarasi workmanship.

The saree is framed by a striking double border, where repeated zari bands create rhythm and structure along the length of the drape. The pallu unfolds through denser woven panels, layered with intricate patterning that balances the simplicity of the body.

Ideal for evening gatherings, wedding functions, festive dinners, and occasions that call for refined dressing.

Styling Note: Pair with a tonal green blouse and kundan jewellery for a classic look, or style with antique gold accents and statement earrings for a richer festive expression.

Note: Comes with a matching blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique

Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
