Handloom Hot Pink Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Saree With Kadhwa Booti
Hot pink handloom sarees are truly worth the investment. This particular hot pink Banarasi silk saree is a statement piece meticulously handcrafted by the master craftsmen of Banaras. They employed the age-old Kadhwa weaving technique to create this pink pure silk saree. The bright pink katan Banarasi surface is accentuated with intricate gold and silver zari work.
The entire expanse of the Banarasi saree is adorned with eye-shaped motifs crafted in gold zari threads, along with hints of pink, silver, orange, and blue. This zari work is further combined with tiny gold zari floral booti. The pallu is decorated with large sona rupa floral boota, while the border adorns Mughal-inspired gold floral patterns. The katan Banarasi saree comes with a hot pink blouse piece, which is lavishly decorated with tiny gold and silver zari booti, along with an identical border to match the saree’s elegance.

The Weaving Technique
Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
