Handloom Peacock Green Pure Katan Silk Tanchoi Banarasi Saree With Light Green Resham Work
The captivating Green color scheme voraciously blended with the Indigo hues, to birth a rather Peacock resembling shade to the Pure Banarasi Katan Saree by Weaver Story, seems to be an exquisite and enduring embodiment of the pastoral and picturesque habitat of the glorious Indian regions of our land. Taking up to half of the Saree into its Reshami wrap, the heavy Parrot and light green motifs of buttery Resham work add density to the subtle neon green hues, giving a flavorful makeover to the ancient handloom weaving technology.
Curated on the banks of river Ganges in Banaras, this gem sets a subtle balance between the modernity of the Katan Silk fabric and the traditional Tanchoi craft work, making it a perfect choice for a bold bride who still wants to be centered around her cultural roots. The vintage Purity of the twisted Katan Silk threads and the innovative Tanchoi patterns spread all over the fabric reflect the color palette of the body of our national bird. While the scheme of the entire Saree in itself epitomizes the peacock hues, the tiny but finely woven floral motifs around the center, seems to be paying another tribute to our ancestral worshipping of the natural habitat.

The Weaving Technique
Tanchois are a very fine weave banarasi sarees that use an extra weft thread to create delicate patterns. Tanchoi weaving is one of the complex and technical weaving techniques as it uses one or two warp and two to five weft colors. These sarees are extremely light weight and soft to drape. Jamawar & Tanchois are both satin weave techniques where the motifs are created using the primary weft yarn itself creating an inlaid or embossed look, unlike a brocade, which uses extra warp or weft to create the patterns.
Technically we use the word Jamawar or Jamewar when the motifs feature more than one color, while Tanchois usually have one single color motif or pattern. Jamawars also seem to have a lot of persian influence and are majorly dominated with paisleys in the design pattern
