The Ganderberunda is a majestic two headed bird in Indian mythology believed to possess immense magical power and strength. It is a form of Lord Vishnu formed to fight the Sharabha who is a form of Lord Shiva and was created to destroy Vishnu's Narasimha avatar. The Geruberunda is also the state emblem of Karnataka and is also placed in sculpted form at several places in the Mysore Palace
