Handloom Yellow Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree With Korvai Black Border

Owning a handwoven saree is a matter of pride for every Indian and also for the people who truly appreciate the craft and the grandness associated with owning one. These sarees especially the Kanjivarams signify the country’s rich culture, tradition and history. Weavers work day in and day out to weave these nine yards of elegance and charm by weaving the threads of our glorious history.

This pure silk Kanjivaram saree with a typical black border flanked with a tinge of blue and the zari work gives the entire saree a vividness of its own. The yali motifs supported with simple patterns on the side make the border the most eye-catching part of the saree. A beautiful yellow combined with the elegance of black and a pop of blue gives this saree its own charm and identity. The Korvai weaving technique in addition to all the designing steals the show. The seamless coming together of the pallu, the yellow body of the saree and the bi-colored border, through the Korvai weaving technique requires the presence of two weavers that make this piece of art dear and close to the owner's heart. Perfect for the day and gorgeous for a function in the evening, this saree is all you need to make your entry felt.

The Weaving Technique

The three shuttle weaving technique used to create contrasts in borders and pallu is known as the Kanjivaram Korvai. Two weavers sit at both weft ends of a loom to throw the shuttle while weaving a korvai saree. A korvai saree is more expensive than a regular single color silk kanjivaram
