Pink And Purple Handloom Pure Georgette Bandhani Saree With Zari Checks And Extender Border

An elegant piece of handloom in pink and purple hues, this pure georgette Bandhani saree by WeaverStory captures a softer, more poetic expression of tradition. Delicate floral zari motifs come together to form refined checks across the body, creating a play of texture and shimmer that feels both graceful and timeless. The saree is brought to life through the age-old Bandhani technique, where each motif is patiently crafted by hand, celebrating the skill and heritage of Indian artisans. Its fluid georgette weave lends effortless movement, while the extender border adds a finishing touch of quiet sophistication. Light, breathable, and easy to drape, this saree is ideal for festive mornings, intimate wedding functions, cultural celebrations, or elegant daytime gatherings. Style it with a solid-toned silk blouse, understated gold or pearl jewellery, and soft, natural styling to let the colours, motifs, and craftsmanship remain the true highlight. Complement this regal creation with its matching unstitched blouse piece to complete the ensemble with harmonious finesse.

The Weaving Technique

Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
