Pink Handloom Pure Georgette Banarasi Kadhwa Flower Jaal Saree With Sona Zari Border
A vivid pink rendered on the handloom, this Pure Georgette Banarasi saree draws its character from the movement of its floral jaal. Woven by skilled karigars in the Banarasi cluster, the fabric is structured through a fine balance of warp and weft, allowing it to remain light while holding a graceful, fluid fall.
Executed in the Kadhwa technique, each floral motif is woven individually into the fabric, forming a flowing jaal that travels across the body in a rhythmic, vine-like pattern. The motifs appear softly rounded yet defined, emerging seamlessly from the surface rather than sitting on it—an approach inherent to Banarasi weaving.
A finely detailed sona zari border frames the saree, while the pallu carries a denser concentration of floral work, where larger, closely placed motifs create visual depth and anchor the drape. The transition from the lighter body to the more intricate pallu adds balance to the overall composition.
Suited for traditional occasions and celebrations, this saree carries both presence and ease. To own a handwoven piece like this is to hold a part of India’s textile legacy shaped by generations of karigars.
Styling Note: Pair with a high-neck tonal blouse or a golden one and keep jewellery minimal to allow the jaal and zari work to remain the focus.
Note: It comes with a matching blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique
Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
