The Powder Blue Handloom Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Lehenga is a masterpiece that embodies elegance and traditional artistry. This lehenga is crafted using the distinguished Kadhwa weaving technique where beautiful floral motifs are woven onto the fabric by intricately highlighting the delicate Meenakari work.

The powder blue silk fabric exudes a serene charm, while the gold zari and subtle touches of red in the motifs add depth and sophistication. Accompanying the lehenga are matching panels and borders, designed to harmoniously complement a blouse piece creating a seamless ensemble. Complete this outfit with traditional gold jewellery for an ethereal look that radiates grace and timeless style.

This lehenga has 18 kali with length 106.6 cm and can fit up to 91.4 cm waist. The panels which are sufficient for around 5.22 m ghera or circumference at the bottom. The lehenga also has 10.35 m border that can be used for the Dupatta and a Heavy Brocade Blouse piece.

The Weaving Technique

Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
