Madhavi brings together the depth of peacock blue pure silk organza with an intricately woven vintage Banarasi border. Restrained through the body and detailed at the edges, the saree lets the preserved weave remain its defining feature.

The pure silk organza is left entirely plain, giving the peacock blue room to shift between deep blue and green as the sheer fabric gathers and catches the light. Its lightness and clean surface bring a contemporary ease to a saree grounded in traditional Banarasi craftsmanship.

The vintage handwoven Banarasi border is particularly intricate. Paisleys, florals and curling vines unfold across a contrasting blue ground in zari, punctuated by delicate meenakari accents. Fine rows of woven detailing frame the composition, defining the elaborate motifs while retaining the softened character of the vintage weave.

The saree is accompanied by one metre of Banarasi brocade blouse fabric, woven with a fine geometric ground and scattered floral bootis. It may be used to create a coordinated blouse or set aside in favour of a tonal peacock blue or contrasting blouse for a more contemporary interpretation.
