A meeting of vivid pink and royal purple gives this handloom saree its striking identity, while generations of Banarasi craftsmanship lend it depth beyond colour alone.
Handwoven in the Banarasi weaving cluster, the saree is crafted in pure georgette, known for its lightness, fluid fall, and graceful movement. The shaded field moves seamlessly across the drape, allowing each tone to emerge differently through pleats and pallu.
Bandhej-inspired geometry forms the upper body through repeating diamond grids and dotted placements, bringing order to the composition. Toward the lower pallu, orderly rows of paisley (kalga) motifs introduce a fuller ornamental register.
A woven zari border frames the changing sections with precision and continuity.
Ideal for sangeet evenings, festive receptions, and celebrations that welcome expressive colour.

The Weaving Technique
Phekwa is a weaving style from banaras, where the weft yarn is interlaced in the warp from one end to the other creating textures on the surface of the cloth also called the zamin. This can be done with single silk yarn or resham or zari, or both can be wound around shuttles.
This is one of the most widely used banarasi handloom weaving techniques where the motifs are woven together as opposed to kadhwa saress, thus taking lesser time in completing a saree. This weaving style leaves a large proportion of the silk or zari thread at the back of the saree where there is no motif at the front. These threads at the back are then cut, once the saree is complete. Mostly the ladies of the house help in cutting and cleaning this extra float
