Purple Handloom Pure Zari Kanjivaram Silk Saree With Zari Checks And Yali Motifs

Kanjivaram pure silk sarees are a walk inside history! Surfacing some intricate detailing that was a huge part of the medieval era, this pure silk beauty is like an old-school love story. Kanjivaram sarees have been a huge part of one's wedding collection, sometimes symbolic and sometimes just royalty. Kanjivarams today, pave their way into every handloom lover's wardrobe with ease. Existent as a predominant part of the fashion biz in the country, these sarees have the ability to spark up a sense of confidence as soon as they are adorned.

The checks give it a modern touch where as the yali motifs give it a historic vibe. The yali that is also referred to as vyala is a ubiquitous motif representing an era that dates back a few thousand years. A predominant part of temples in India especially in the South, this structure was a big part of the Pallava Dynasty. The purity of the silk, the glitter of the zari, and the intricacy of the weaving together make this nine yards of fabric undeniably gorgeous. However seamless it looks, these sarees are woven together like a puzzle. The body, the border, and the pallu are first separately woven which then get interlinked with the hard work and the expertise of weavers who have been operating the handloom forever thus making the Korvai technique of weaving exquisite. This purple beauty from Weavers Story comes with a blouse piece that perfectly complements the saree.

The Weaving Technique

The three shuttle weaving technique used to create contrasts in borders and pallu is known as the Kanjivaram Korvai. Two weavers sit at both weft ends of a loom to throw the shuttle while weaving a korvai saree. A korvai saree is more expensive than a regular single color silk kanjivaram
