Red And Musterd Handloom Pure Cottton Chanderi Mata-Ni-Pachedi Saree With Hand Printed Kalamkari Lotus And Nandi Motifs On Pallu
This saree brings alive the sacred storytelling tradition of Mata ni Pachedi- literally “behind the Mother Goddess.” Once painted as temple backdrops by the Devi Pujak community of Gujarat, these textiles carried devotion in every brushstroke. Translating that ethos into wearable heritage, this Chanderi drape retains the spirit of prayer-in-cloth while embracing the fluid elegance of a saree.
The pallu is adorned with lotus motifs, symbolic of purity, divinity, and eternal renewal, and Nandi, the devoted guardian of Lord Shiva, embodying faith and strength. Together, the motifs echo the spiritual vocabulary of the original shrine cloths, transforming the saree into a canvas of reverence and artistry.
Woven in a striking red and mustard palette, this handloom cotton Chanderi feels light and breathable, making it suitable for day-long wear. Style it with minimal temple jewellery for festive rituals, pujas, or intimate gatherings steeped in tradition. For a contemporary touch, pair it with handcrafted silver jewellery and let the narrative motifs of the pallu take center stage.
This saree that is not just attire- but a living piece of storytelling, devotion, and heritage.
