The Wine Handloom Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Saree is woven with a striking geometric jaal, where zari forms a succession of elongated diamond-shaped motifs across the body. The repetition gives the saree a strong visual rhythm, while the contrasting pink edging lifts the deeper wine ground. An intricately woven zari border and pallu complete the composition, bringing florals into an otherwise geometric design.

The saree is handwoven using the Cutwork technique, one of the established supplementary-weft traditions of Banaras. Here, additional zari threads travel across the loom to create the pattern and leave floats on the reverse between motifs. Once weaving is complete, these unwanted floats are carefully cut away, giving Cutwork its name and leaving the woven design intact.
