Yellow Handloom Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Kadhwa Saree With Elephant Booti And Pink Meena
The yellow Banarasi saree is a radiant expression of handwoven luxury. Crafted in pure Katan silk, it carries a soft sheen and smooth texture that enhances its festive charm. The body is adorned with Kadhwa-woven elephant bootis, brought to life in fine gold zari with accents of pink meenakari, a combination that adds both contrast and delicacy to the design. The elephant motif, a timeless emblem in Indian textile tradition, represents wisdom, strength, and prosperity, making it a popular choice for auspicious occasions.
The Kadhwa technique, native to Banaras, is one of the most intricate weaving methods where each motif is individually hand-picked and woven on the loom. Unlike machine-made brocades, Kadhwa motifs appear raised, crisp, and detailed, while the reverse of the fabric remains clean and smooth, a true hallmark of master craftsmanship.
The cheerful yellow hue makes this saree ideal for daytime weddings, haldi ceremonies, and festive celebrations, where it glows effortlessly under natural light. It comes with a matching blouse piece, allowing versatile styling, from traditional gold jewellery to softer pastel accents for a balanced festive look. This yellow Banarasi saree captures the joy of celebration woven in silk and zari.

The Weaving Technique
Kadhwa stands for 'kadha hua' or 'embroidered'. In Kadhwa weaving, each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi techniques. Often two weavers weave a kadhwa saree. One weaver is engaged in weaving the cloth or the body of the saree and the second helps in carving out or embroidering each motif using a wooden spool or Tilli as it’s called in Banaras. Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. A kadhwa saree typically will take a minimum of 12-14 days to complete and go up to 8-9 months also depending on the intricacy of the design. The backside of a kadhwa saree is clean and has almost negligible or zero float or loose threads.
