Yellow Pure Satin Silk Banarasi Kadhwa Saree With Guldasta Motifs

Yellow and red have long shared a place in Indian ceremonial dressing, but here, it is the use of silver alongside gold that gives the pairing a more distinctive expression. Across the luminous yellow satin silk, generously scaled guldasta motifs appear at measured intervals, woven in both zari tones and framed by a fine red selvedge. The composition is traditional in its references, yet remarkably uncluttered in the way it wears.

Handwoven in Banaras using the Kadhwa technique, the Yellow Handloom Pure Satin Silk Banarasi Saree With Kadhwa Gold And Silver Flowers Guldasta Motifs And Red Selvedge allows each floral form to stand independently against the open body. The guldastas carry intricate floral detailing within their rounded silhouettes, with gold and silver catching the light differently as the saree moves.

Satin silk plays an important role in the saree’s visual character. Its smooth, lustrous surface gives the yellow an almost liquid brilliance, while the sparse placement of the motifs allows that expanse of colour to remain central to the design.

The palla shifts the balance towards zari with a broad, closely woven panel, bringing greater richness to the end of the drape. A slender red selvedge traces the saree throughout, introducing just enough contrast to sharpen the yellow and provide a natural cue for styling.

Festive without being densely ornamented, this is a saree that would move easily between a daytime wedding, a haldi celebration and a traditional festive gathering.

Styling Tip: Pair it with a deep red or vermilion silk blouse, drawing from the selvedge, and finish with antique-gold jewellery or polki to complement the dual-toned zari.
